This project involved me modeling and printing a combination lock with several components from scratch, with minimal aid from the internet. It utilizes gears to enable different number combinations and has extrusions on the hook to ensure that it only unlocks with the right combination and does not entirely come off without proper use.
These are the initial hand-drawn blueprints for the combination lock. Several adjustments have been made to the design when moving it to the modeling software. The hook was the primary component that was adjusted, with both sides becoming longer to ensure it functions as intended and to make the overall design less complicated. The door was also shrunk considerably to enable the number pads to easily change.
